A practical list of things to do in the Philippines

The old “1,000 things” page, rewritten as a usable short list: islands, highlands, festivals, and the trips this site already explains.

Things to do
Boat schedules, resort rules, trail permits, and entrance fees change. Confirm details with the local tourism office, port, or park unit before you travel. This site is an editorial guide, not a booking desk.

The original mytourguide.ph page promised a thousand things to do. A thousand items is a directory, and directories go stale. This page is the short list we will actually stand behind, with links into the guides that already have the logistics.

Islands and beaches

  • Boracay. Walk the three stations before you book. Start at the island overview and the station comparison.
  • Panglao, Bohol. Swim on a day you are not also chasing hills. The province loop puts the beach back in the plan.
  • Siargao. Watch Cloud 9 from the boardwalk or take a lesson on a suitable day. Read Cloud 9.
  • Zambales coves. Anawangin and Nagsasa are boat trips, explained with the coastal peaks.

Highlands and cities

  • Baguio. A three-day cold weekend with one outward sight, not five. Use the itinerary.
  • Panagbenga. February in Baguio, planned around the parade days. See the festival note.
  • Tagaytay ridge. The view of Taal is the easy version. The island hike depends on the advisory in the Taal guide.

Nature that needs a permit or a guide

  • Chocolate Hills and tarsiers. Separate stops, animals first. Hills and sanctuary.
  • Pulag, Apo, Pinatubo, Batulao, Makiling, Hibok-Hibok, Amuyao. Each has its own page under adventures. Do not treat them as a single bucket list to finish in one leave.

How to use a long list

Pick one climate. A highland weekend and a reef trip are both good and they pack badly together. Check PAGASA and, for volcanoes, PHIVOLCS. Then open one guide and book the transport that guide names.

More provinces from the original site — Cebu, Palawan, Davao, the Ilocos coast — will come back as their own hubs. Until those URLs return, this page is the index of what is ready.
