La Union province in the Philippines is located on the island of Luzon’s Ilocos Region. La Union, which translates to “The Union,” was founded in 1850 by bringing together settlements from the neighboring provinces of Ilocos Sur, Pangasinan, and Benguet. - Take one of the bus companies that leave from Manila terminals every hour: Dominion Bus Lines, Philippine Rabbit, Partas, Fariñas, Maria de Leon, and Viron. The destinations
- San Fernando, the Capital of La Union, is 273 kilometers from Manila, which takes about 5 hours by land or 30 minutes by air, and is about an hour’s drive from Baguio City.
THE BEST TIME TO VISIT LA UNION
Because surfing is the main reason tourists visit La Union, the best time to explore is during the surf season, which runs from July to October due to the South Swell and November to March due to the North Swell.
