Batangas-Mindoro Bridge Project Update

The Mindoro-Batangas Super Bridge also referred to as the Batangas-Mindoro Bridge Project, is a floating bridge that will span 15 kilometers from Batangas City to Mindoro Island. According to recent sources, the project is still in the design stages, with construction set to begin soon. The bridge is expected to open in 2025, benefiting thousands of people and visitors who travel between the two provinces on a regular basis.

SMC’s team has contracted with a local firm to do a bathymetric examination in order to assess water depth. The bridge will go from Batangas’ Barangay Ilijan to Puerto Galera’s Barangay Sinandigan through Verde Island.

For the time being, the RoRo (Roll-on/Roll-off) ferry service between Batangas and Mindoro is the most popular mode of transportation.
